It is on March 11th 2012 at the Elmwood Theatre, Aikmans Road, Merivale, Christchurch. Doors Open 4.30pm. There are two sessions. Attendance at one session costs $15 or if you wish to attend both then we have the great price of only $20 to attend both sessions. That's just $5 more than attending one session. Yummy vegan food is available to purchase between sessions. So make a night of it! Pre-bookings available, contact info@vegetarianchristchurch.org.nz
3) Please note that The Lotus-Heart will be closed for Waitangi Weekend, 4th, 5th and 6th of February.
4) SAFE Film Night: Forks over Knives, 7pm - 9pm, Thursday, 4 February, Cnr Tuam and Durham St, parking available at the school. Christchurch SAFE volunteers and supporters are invited to join us for a fun and educational get-together on 4th February at the St Michaels Church from 7pm - 9pm. We will be showing Forks over Knives, an inspiring film that examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods. Of course there will be drinks, nibbles and great conversation. Hans will also briefly explain what SAFE has been up to and what is coming up. Please RSVP to sacha@safe.org.nz. You can also find the event on the SAFE New Zealand Facebook page. We look forward to seeing you all there!
5) SAFE Vegan Potluck, 7pm - 9pm approx, Friday, 17 February, Riccarton.
SAFE's vegan potlucks are always a great opportunity to try fantastic vegan food, share recipes and ideas and meet like-minded local people. Malkiat Singh is our host for the first potluck for 2012 which will be located in the Riccarton area. Please RSVP to sacha@safe.org.nz for further details and/ or questions. Friends and family, human and non-human animals are all very welcome! Come along for a relaxing night with fabulous food.
6) Subway Vegetarian Patties are now dairy-free! There is no change in the product texture or flavour, but the patties are now suitable for vegans. Please allow another month to ensure all of the old product has moved through the stores, or you can ask them to check the carton label – the new product has no milk solids listed in the ingredients list.
