Vegetarian Expo 2009

The Vegetarian Expo has its own website www.vegetarianexpo.org.nz which you can visit to find out what will be happening at New Zealand's biggest vegetarian event.

We will be having a Vegetarian Expo to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of World Vegetarian Day (October 1st) and the 79th anniversary of World Animal Day (October 4th). This will be held on Sunday September 27th 2009 from 10-4.30pm at the Horticultural Centre, Riccarton Ave, Christchurch.

Interested in becoming an exhibitor at the 2009 Christchurch Vegetarian Expo?

Our aim is to promote vegetarian/vegan community and lifestyle. There will be stalls selling food and promoting all kinds of vegetarian-owned businesses or related groups. We will also have vegetarian cookery demonstrations, films and entertainment.

In 2007 and 2008, the Christchurch Vegetarian Centre held New Zealand’s biggest Vegetarian Expos. 2000+ people attended these events which were a huge success. Feedback from the exhibitors showed 100% positive evaluations about the impact of the Expos and their satisfaction with the events.

The criteria for inclusion for the Vegetarian Expo is that either your business is run on vegetarian principles, is vegetarian operated and does not conflict with vegetarian principles, or promotes items (such as food) of interest to vegetarians and vegans. If you are not vegetarian but your business fits within the criteria, we expect that no meat would be brought on site on the day and that you bring no materials promoting a non -vegetarian diet. We also ask that your stall is staffed at all times as we will not be able to safeguard your goods or respond to enquiries about your stall if you leave the site.

 The charge for having a stall in 2008 was  free for non profit making groups and $50-100 for businesses (sliding scale). We waived the charge for businesses that do not make a profit on the day. Charges for the 2009 Expo will be set by the committee of the Christchurch Vegetarian Centre in 2009.

Please contact us for a registration application form if you interested in having a stall promoting your business or group at the third Christchurch Vegetarian Expo. The criteria for inclusion for the Vegetarian Expo is that either your business or group is run on vegetarian principles, is vegetarian operated and does not conflict with vegetarian principles, or promotes items (such as food) of interest to vegetarians and vegans.

Vegetarian/vegan cookery demonstrators / workshop facilitators wanted
