Krishna's Cafe Reviews
Krishna’s Cafe
Krishna's Cafe (formerly known as Govinda’s) is a traditional Hare Krishna café with their easily affordable set lunches consisting of a chickpea or lentil dish with rice, samosa (or similar savoury) and chutney, and dahl soup. For the last few visits I have been disappointed in that the main lentil or chickpea dish hasn’t been vegan which I think plays a large part in my not eating there more often. However since Soul Food (formerly Gravity Cave) – also run be the Hare Krishnas – has opened, they often stock some of the same food items such as the vegan pearl barley and brown rice burger and the yummy tahini pasta salad.
The last time I ate at Krishna’s they even had a fantastically rich vegan chocolate cake, which I could not ignore! This, and the fact that their dahl soup and savouries are very scrumptious indeed, might tempt me into visiting again soon.
