Fo Guang Shan Teahouse
The Fo Guang Shan Teahouse is located in the flash new International Buddhist Centre on Riccarton Road. The café setting is lovely, with its modern design and pond along the front window. The menu is not exhaustive, but still provides a range of noodle and rice dishes and entrees such as wontons and spring rolls. They also offer set lunches for a good price which change daily.
My favourite dishes are the vegetarian nuggets (entrée) – mouth-watering bite-sized pieces of soy protein in a crispy seasoned coating – and their TVP noodle dishes. The cafe is vegan friendly as the majority of the food is free from all animal products, with the exception of their baked goods and the odd menu item such as wedges with sour cream.
