Catch up with our doings in New Zealand's only dedicated vegetarian magazine 'Vegetarian Living NZ". Available from the Christchurch Vegetarian Centre office, in shops or free to members of the Vegetarian Society.
The Christchurch Vegetarian Centre aims to be an inclusive group where all vegetarians feel welcome. Vegans are vegetarian too of course! To this aim, we cater vegan at our events so that the Vegetarian and Vegan communities can celebrate vegetarianism together and all can share in the food. If you are gluten free, please let us know if you plan to attend a catered event so that we can be sure to have suitable food for you.
If you are bringing a dish to a pot luck, please make it a vegan one. If you would like some vegan recipe suggestions, CLICK HERE for our recipes page. Otherwise, you could buy ready made vegan food to bring such as Lite Licks or So Good ice cream, Trade Aid or Whittakers dark chocolate or a green/fruit salad.

UPCOMING EVENTS:
Christchurch Vegetarian Centre Curry Night, Friday 30th July, 7pm at Horticultural Hall. The Christchurch Vegetarian Centre is hosting an Indian Vegan Dinner and Cooking Demonstration at 7pm on Friday July 30th at the Horticultural Centre Hall on Riccarton Avenue. The CVC will cook your vegan dinner (sag aloo, dhal, rice and sides) whilst Dr Janaki Kandula, a well-known vegetarian who taught vegetarian cooking classes at Riccarton for six years, will show you how to make delicious Indian Roti (flat bread). Costs: Vegetarian Youth Group $3. Under 5’s group free. For Lesbian and Gay Dining Group restaurant meals, pay for what you order. All other events are $2 per person or family unless otherwise stated. For all picnics, pot lucks and family group meetings bring a plate and cutlery and a vegan dish to share (raw if attending the Raw Vegan Group).
